We have discused how important backlinks are to getting traffic to your website. Without backlinks your site is likely going to sit gathering dust and barely ever see a visitor.
You may get traffic through search engines butunless you have plenty of backlinks pointing to your site they may not even find your site and if they do it may not get much of a ranking in the search engine results.
Backlinks are crucial and together with good content you should see the numbers of visors rise over time if you get regular backlinks posted linking in to your site.
So, how do we get all these backlinks?
With a bit of luck you will get a few visitors who decide to link back to your website and once your site becomes more well known amongst its interest group you should see visitor numbers begin to rise but to start out and help your site grow over time you can do a lot worse than work on getting more backlinks yourself.
You can do this manually by adding comments to blogs and forums where they allow you to have a signiture line pointing back to your website. You can also spend a lot of time logging on to various 2.0 social networking sites and leaving your links around. It is time consuming but it works.
Or, you can use some software that will assist you in this task. One of the best I have tried, especially for the small cost each month, is TrafficBug which allows you to add a comprehensive description of your site together with your preferred keywords and titles and it proceeds to register your website with social network sites, website directories and RSS feed aggregator sites.
If you are serious about developing a website that gets noticed and gets visitors traffic bug is a wensite I believe will help you achieve more success from your website by helping to boost the numbers of visitors arriving at your site.

There can be no doubt that video is a significant part of the internet now. Around a billion youtube videos are watched every day and the numbers are growing constantly. If you can make a video that becomes viral it could encourage thousands of visitors to your website or traffic to your blog.
You do not have to be a tv presenter to make a video. Some of the most popular videos are pretty amateurish and that is sometimes part of their appeal. People want to see genuine content not some salesman making a presentation. You can still sell via your video but you should make it friendly and easy to watch. Try the hard sell if you like, it does work in certain markets, but viral video is most often laid back and casual.
If you are uncomfortable with the idea of appearing on screen there are alternatives to appearing in front of the camera. You can make a video of something you are doing on your computer screen by using software to record all the actions. This is a great way of demonstrating how a product is used and what it can do.
Another alternative is to convert articles to video. You can do this by hand using moviemaker and powerpoint or similar programs but it can be time consuming. A great alternative is to use software that can convert your article to a video ready to be uploaded to youtube and other video websites.
One program I have used and found to be very productive is GFXvideowriter and you can read more about how it can help you at convert article to video and I think that for the one off cost it is an excellent program as there are alternatives that charge a monthly fee that is as much as this program costs to buy.
You only have to take a brief look at youtube to see the huge choice of videos available and it continues to grow all the time so if you want some traffic to your website you might try putting a video online.

You can't spend very long online attempting to start building a business without coming across marketers who are eager to sell you a guide, a course or a membership that is apparently all you need to go from loser to successful Internet marketer in no time at all.
You may have bought some of the guides and courses available but still don't seem to be making the income you had hoped for. Join the club. You are certainly not alone and while the quality of the courses will vary most have some good advice buried within them.
Many courses and guides to making money online will sound great on the sales page but after you download them you may look at them and wonder what exactly is the key advice you are given. Often there will be many pages explaining the absolute basics of setting up a website or writing an article but to be fair some people will want to know this too.
If you have been online for a while you may have already discovered how to set up a website and/or blog but it is still worth your time reading through the basic chapters because you may pick up some useful tips that you weren't aware of or discover the way to do something extra you didn't know.
When you finally get to the meat of the guide it may seem remarkably simple. That's because it is. The Internet is not complicated. You get visitors to visit your website and they click on an ad or a link to an affiliate product or take some other action that may lead to you making some money.
It really isn't rocket science and just about anyone can do it. What lets a lot of people down when they try to build an online business is that they start out full of enthusiasm but get disillusioned and disappointed when they don't see fast results.
It is very easy to add adsense adverts to your website and there is no doubt it can earn you money but you are earning usually small amounts per click and you need a lot of visitors to your website before you start making good money but it does work and it is possible if you keep building your website and spreading the word about your site all over the internet. For all that the Internet works in the blink of an eye, building up a successful online business can take time and a lot of effort. Yes, some people strike lucky and have fast success but most achieve success slowly. You build up your content by writing articles and you get links back to your website in various different ways and over time those links get picked up by the search engines and with luck, they will rate your pages well and visitors will appear. It is simple but over time it works.
